Summer reading bookmark contest

Calling all creative kids, tweens/teens, and adults! You are invited to participate in our Summer Reading Bookmark Contest!

Starting February 1, 2024, and until March 1, 2024, we’re looking for drawings, paintings, and designs from all ages that involve the theme: “Adventure Begins at the Library.” Your design can incorporate books, reading, and libraries, with traveling, nature, outer space, or whatever you’d like to create!

Contest Information


Participants will compete in the following categories for a chance to see their designs featured at the Library as well as used to promote the Summer Reading Program in the community!

  • Kids (Grades K–5)

  • Tweens/Teens (Grades 6-12)

  • Adults

Addition details:

  • Be creative and have fun!

  • Use your original creations (no copyrighted images or characters)

  • The deadline for submissions is Mar. 1, 2024

  • Entrants must reside in the Library’s Service Area

  • Winning designs are subject to Library administration approval

Library staff will select 10 finalists in each age category from March 1-8. Public voting will take place in the Library from March 11-28. Winners will be announced during National Library Week on April 8! Grand prize winners will have their designs made into bookmarks that will be handed out to promote the Library’s Summer Reading Program and made available to patrons in the Library throughout the year.

Options to submit your entry form:

  • Return to a Library staff member in person

  • Scan and email your form to with the subject line - “Bookmark Contest 2024”
